Ground Network Operations Analyst
Monitor end to end global communication from SV’s (Space Vehicles) to Customer Communication devices and all points in between. This includes Unix servers and processes, Cisco routing, switching and firewalls, as well as Window based servers and end stations.
Responsible for ongoing modifications, patch upgrades and optimization of the Short Burst Data communication system. This system is a global data system that transmits over 1.5 million messages per day primarily in the maritime industry.
Implemented Cisco routing and switching devices for Open port VOIP product as well as upgrades for the Short Burst Data product. This included everything from configuration uploads to rack mounting and cabling.
Responsible for testing and optimization of Open Port VOIP application due to be released in late 2008. This includes testing of call flows, network optimization and implementation of monitoring tools for better visibility to issues. Consistently utilize Unix scripting tools as well, as basic Unix to analyze logs and extract necessary data needed to improve network or application performance.

Monitored Systems for various clients on a global scale. Dealt with undersea fiber cable failures from India to Sydney, Australia (and the subsequent routing adjustments to divert traffic) to minor switch module replacements.
Responsible for American Express and Ameriprise client circuit, routing and switching issues. Using SNMP traps, issues would arise and would require immediate investigation and resolution. At times it would be required to call out circuits to local PTT's, or dispatch a field tech to replace routers, DSU's, Module Cards, etc...
Assisted local field technicians and engineers with planned maintenance and scheduled outages. This would require making minor configuration changes to routers and switches.
Maintained critical GNS banking sites responsible for critical banking transactions. Worked closely with American Express Merchant Techs to insure proper encryption was being maintained within Cisco routers.
Monitored, Troubleshot and resolved client issues with IGX trunks, Frame Relay, T1, ISDN and Gig Ethernet issues.
